Why other libraries?

 

If you can't find research on your topic, come and speak with Mrs Brown or Mrs Wotherspoon in the Monte Library. We may suggest you access one of the universities in Sydney to look for additional research. This page gives you information about our partnerships with four universities in Sydney, as well as the State Library and Stanton Library.

 

Visual Arts

Art Gallery of NSW

You can access the Art Gallery of NSW's Research Library, which has extensive resources on all forms of visual arts. Free library tours and instruction in the use of resources are available by appointment. All resources must be used in the AGNSW Library (they are not for loan).

Museum of Contemporary Art

You can access the collections at the Library at the MCA for your research. Bookings are essential. Details and opening hours can be found on their website.

University libraries

 

Macquarie University Library

Monte is a partner school of Macquarie University. Students can use the facilities of Macquarie University Library, but do not have borrowing privileges. Teachers however do have borrowing privileges. To borrow you need to take a letter from Mrs Brown in the Monte Library which verifies that you are a teacher at a partner school, and then fill out a form at Macquarie Library's reception to gain a temporary library ID. 


University of Sydney (Fisher) Library

Year 11 and 12 students can borrow a limited number of items from 12 library locations by signing up to the SchoolsLink program. The cost is $50.00 for 12 months membership or $25.00 for 6 months membership. Teachers can apply for a Community Borrower membership to the library. The cost is $40.00 for 3 months membership, $80.00 for 6 months membership or $160.00 for 12 months membership. Both these categories do not include off-campus access to Library databases.


University of Technology Sydney

Year 11 and 12 students are able to access the library to browse the collection and photocopy as day visitors. No borrowing is permitted.


University of NSW

Year 11 and 12 students are able to access the library collection, borrow items and use the online databases. A cost is involved. See Mrs Brown in the Monte LIbrary to obtain a membership application form.
